Creative Content has signed a deal with OverDrive to sell its titles in libraries and schools.
OverDrive, a digital media distributor, which sends content out to over 9,000 libraries and online retailers will distribute Creative Content's business etiquette and self-improvement titles worldwide.
Ali Muirden, founder of Creative Content, said: “We are extremely pleased to have signed up with OverDrive to sell our titles worldwide into libraries and schools, along with major online retailers like W H Smith and Borders, as we recognise this as an important and growing market, which is a key area for our publications and the future expansion of our list."
Creative Content is an audio download publishing company launched at the end of last year. Its titles include business etiquette titles focused on China, Russia and India and two Improve Your Speech titles aimed at both native and non-native speakers of British and US English.
Erica Lazzaro, general counsel at OverDrive said: “Creative Content's audio titles have wide-ranging appeal to our distribution channels, and we are excited about their addition to the catalogue."
The system will work by adding titles onto a library's website, then the digital audiobooks can be borrowed by any member of the library and transferred onto a compatible MP3 player. When the lending period ends, the file automatically expires. Currently the only libraries to offer this in
the UK are those in Luton and Essex, but OverDrive said further regions were expected to sign up "in the next few months".
