Constable & Robinson has signed the first book in a new crime series by Andrea Carter.
Krystyna Green signed world English language rights in Whitewater Church and another book in a deal with Kerry Glencorse at Susanna Lea Associates.
Whitewater Church is set in the beautiful and remote Inishowen Peninsula in Ireland, where local solicitor Benedicta O'Keeffe is drawn into the dark secrets of the local community.
Carter is a barrister living in Dublin, who previously worked in Inishowen as a solicitor. The book won 2013 Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair and Carter received an Arts Council of Ireland Literature Bursary Award.
Green said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be taking Andrea on, especially at this exciting time for the Constable list. As well as publishing our more traditional titles it’s marvellous too we can devote time and energy to pushing forward debut authors with a long and thrilling future ahead of them."
The book will be released in autumn 2015.
