Waterstones' director of buying Kate Skipper will take maternity leave at the end of the month. In her absence, Melissa Cox, head of range and children's, will assume responsibility for the new titles and publisher liaison teams, while Caroline McNulty, category manager for related products, will take on full responsibility for the RP (related product) team.
Watersones. managing director James Daunt said: "We are very fortunate to have in place such able deputies".
At the same time, Natalie Austin, Waterstones' Northern manager will go on maternity leave on 8th May, with her patch to be split between Cat Morrison, who will take on the Scottish and Northern Irish shops and Peter Whitehead, who will cover the same role for the North of England. Daunt called the news of the arrivals "very happy".
Skipper was made director of buying at Waterstones in April last year and was also brought onto the Waterstones management executive committee at the same time.
