Black & White Publishing has acquired a second book from Andrew Cotter, Dog Days: A Year with Olive & Mabel.
Cotter's two labradors became popular during the first lockdown through the author's social media posts and videos, which featured a series of online contests between the dogs.
Cotter's first memoir Olive, Mabel and Me: Life and Adventures with Two Very Good Dogs was published by Black & White in October last year, and told the "heart-warming" story of the Scottish sports commentator's life with his labradors.
In Dog Days, Cotter will delve into the pages of his diary to reveal just how extraordinary the past year has been and share behind-the-scenes stories and adventures about the dogs, says the publisher.
Managing director Campbell Brown acquired world rights direct from the author. Brown said: "Olive, Mabel and Andrew have found a very special place in our hearts in difficult times, and this new book is as brilliantly sharp, funny and poignant as you would hope."
Cotter commented: "With little help from either Olive or Mabel, I have been keeping a diary: a record of the strange path that we have been taking recently. Hopefully it will make people smile and quite often recognise something from their own lives as we escape again into the world I share with two famous and largely clueless dogs."
Dog Days will be published in October 2021.
