Coronet, an imprint of Hodder & Stoughton is to publish the autobiography of medium Gordon Smith, titled Best of Both Worlds.
Publisher Mark Booth acquired world rights from Robbie Ringwood, as part of a 3 book deal.
Booth said: “I always wanted to meet Gordon, because of his famous, prodigious gift. When we had lunch it turned into a long lunch. As he began to tell me intimate, terrifying and hilarious details of his growing up, I knew that this was a story that had to be told, and I’m delighted that now it finally can be.”
Smith decided to tell his life story after the death of his mother, who is described as “as violent and unpredictable as the Gorbals itself”. The book also tells of the violence inside and outside Smith’s family, gang warfare, sexual abuse, his coming to terms with being gay and discovering his gift. According to Coronet, it will be “packed with good humour, laughter and larger than life characters”.
Coronet will publish Best of Both Worlds on 11th September.
