A host of independently published coronavirus "survival guides", claiming to offer customers advice on "how to survive pandemics", are being sold on Amazon.
Among the tens of titles for sale, targeting those concerned with how to protect themselves and their families, are Devil Virus and Military Virus Apocalypse: Biological Warfare, Bioweapons and China Coronavirus Pandemic.
The latter claims to offer a history of biological weapons as well as "alternative approaches to preventing and treating diseases caused by biological agents" and "natural ways to boost your immune system".
In the US, a book entitled Jesus versus Satan: The Origins of Coronavirus appears to have been taken down on the heels of media coverage from Business Insider of books promoting conspiracy theories around the outbreak on the site.
Other opportunistic publishing includes such titles as the Coronavirus Zombie Coloring Book, billed as "a must have for those with a sense of humor during tough times".
The Bookseller understands some of the titles are no longer available.
A spokesperson for Amazon told The Bookseller: "Our store maintains content guidelines for the books we sell and we continue to evaluate our catalogue and take action on an ongoing basis. Amazon is also taking action to ensure our customers have access to accurate information, and at the top of relevant search results pages is a link to UK government advice where you can learn more about the virus and protective measures."
