Steve Connolly, Hodder Education's publishing director for group digital and partnerships, is stepping down and leaving the company this month.
Connolly has been the strategist and chief architect of the division’s digital strategy for nearly 20 years, building two online learning platforms, an assessment reporting platform, plus many features and smaller websites. He had a unique role, combining digital with publishing responsibility for many years, focusing on digital strategy and partnerships only in recent times.
His contribution to the business culminated this year in the launch of the company's new teaching and learning platform Boost and eduu.school, the national online school. He has now decided to move on and seek new opportunities, the company said.
He explained: “I am immensely proud of my achievements during the time I have been at Hodder Education working with a range of wonderful colleagues and partner organisations. The development and delivery of new content and assessment digital services alongside the company’s print products has helped to support teachers, learners and parents through the recent turbulent time. I am now looking forward to new challenges within the industry.”
Group m.d. Lis Tribe said: “Steve has been at the heart of everything digital since he first moved into a digital role nearly 20 years ago. He has added immeasurably to our plans and ideas, and to our digital services ranging across every part of Hodder Education. He has worked often under intense pressure, and delivered time after time, most recently in an incredibly difficult period for all in education; we owe him a huge debt of gratitude for all he has done for Hodder Education over the years. I am going to miss Steve hugely; he and I have worked closely together for a quarter of a century, and I will miss his advice, his expertise and, most of all, his friendship. I wish him every success in the future.”
Connolly’s last day with Hodder Education will be 7th May. He can be contacted here: firstname.lastname@example.org.
