Yellow Kite has acquired Fight, a book explaining cognitive hypnotherapy to readers who want to overcome unwanted behaviour and stumbling blocks in their own lives.
The book is authored by trained therapist Hazel Gale, who discovered the benefits of cognitive hypnotherapy as a competitive boxer and kickboxer when she developed anxiety problems which led to emotional and physical burnout. Cognitive hypnotherapy not only helped her to get back into competition after illness, leading to World and European titles in kick boxing and National titles in boxing, but ultimately turned her whole life around.
The book is "like having a one-to-one therapy session with Hazel", according to Yellow Kite, and will assist by helping readers to address and overcome "psychological barriers" developed in the unconscious mind that results in "problematic behaviour".
Fight will be Gale's first book, publishing in March 2018. Senior commissioning editor at Yellow Kite, Tamsin English, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Rachel Mills at Furniss Lawton.
English said: "Hazel is a passionate expert on cognitive hypnotherapy and inspiring writer. In her book she offers a ground-breaking, science-based approach to overcoming mental blocks and managing emotions. Fight is for people who know they could be more creative, successful, serene and happy. We are thrilled to be publishing it on the Yellow Kite list."
Gale said: "My purpose in writing this book was to make the powerful cognitive hypnotherapy tools and techniques that I teach my private clients available to everyone. Fight will guide you through a process that will help you to maximise your potential for success, happiness and harmonious relationships. You’ll learn through stories, personal anecdotes and easily digestible theory; by the final chapter, you’ll be well-versed in some of the most powerful techniques for claiming control over the way you think, feel and act."
