Click and collect might not suit us all, say indie bookshops

Indie bookshop owners and managers are gearing up for a second lockdown with optimism, though some are divided over the viability of click and collect services. Speaking to The Bookseller, James Daunt argued that the service could be a lockdown "game changer", depending on the details. A number of retailers have begun advertising the availability of the option, including booksellers.

Chains including Blackwell's are pushing the click and collect service, with certain branches offering a guarantee of  same-day delivery for orders placed before noon.
