Ann Cleeves (pictured), Sophie Hannah, Lynda La Plante and Mark Billingham will be among the crime writers at this year’s Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate.
J K Rowling will make her only appearance as Robert Galbraith at the festival, in conversation with Val McDermid about the new Galbraith novel, The Silkworm.
This year’s festival is programmed by Steve Mosby, who eighth novel The Nightmare Place (Orion) was published earlier this month.
Other authors attending include Tony Parsons, Mark Lawson, Louise Welsh, Denise Mina and S J Watson.
There will be a special session on the ITV drama "Broadchurch", with the programme’s creator Chris Chibnall and actress Olivia Colman.
The 2014 Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival takes place from 17th July to 20th July, at the Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate, the hotel where Agatha Christie was found in 1926 after disappearing from her home.
The festival will include the 10th Theakstons Old Peculier Novel of the Year Awards, the longlist of which has already been announced.
