Clara Vulliamy pens young fiction series

HarperCollins Children’s has acquired a young fiction series by author and illustrator Clara Vulliamy.

The series, entitled Dotty Detective, is aimed at readers aged 5-8 and focuses on the adventures of a schoolgirl sleuth called Dot and her faithful hound McClusky.

Ruth Alltimes, publishing director for fiction at HarperCollins Children’s Books, acquired world rights to three books from Hilary Delamere at The Agency. The first book will be publish in paperback in March 2016, followed by book two in August 2016 and book three in January 2017.

Alltimes said: “Dot is destined to be the new ‘book-best-friend’ of young girls everywhere; she is impishly funny, aspirational and so full of curiosity that girl readers will be drawn into her world of mini mysteries. Clara Vulliamy's signature stylish, witty artwork creates an irresistible young fiction package.”
