Christina Demosthenous has been promoted to associate publisher at Bookouture following 18 months with the company.
Demosthenous moved from Headline to the digital publisher as commissioning editor in November 2017, and since then has built up a list which covers a number of genres including book club, psychological thriller, romance, historical and commercial women’s fiction. Her recent bestsellers include Sophie Ranald’s Sorry Not Sorry and Shirley Dickson’s The Orphan Sisters.
Demosthenous will start her new role on 3rd June, and will report to publishing director Ruth Tross who joins Bookouture at the end of May.
Publisher Jenny Geras said: "We are thrilled to see Christina taking on this new role. In her time at Bookouture so far, she has impressed us all with her commercial instincts, her creativity and copywriting skills and her brilliant editorial work and author care. I know she’ll do an excellent job in this new role, both in growing her own list and in taking on management of other members of the editorial team."
Demosthenous added: "I couldn't be more excited about my new role at Bookouture. It's such a thrill working with such an innovative and inspiring team that continues to lead the market, and I'm incredibly passionate about what we do here. I have learnt so much since joining the company 18 months ago, and I can't wait to see what the future holds."
