Choc Lit has acquired two new novels, Angela Britnell's The Way to a Hero's Heart and Jules Wake's Mixed Messages and Misunderstandings ahead of London Book Fair.
Britnell lives in Tennessee and won a competition run by Choc Lit in the US to find and publish an American author. Her book is the story of a popular American chef and what happens on her scouting mission to Cornwall as she seeks unknown stars to participate in new TV program "Celebrity Chef Swap".
In Wake's Mixed Messages and Misunderstandings, central character Olivia Middleton is realising that her life is tangled "web of relationships that push the boundaries between love, jealousy, loyalty and obsession".
Director Lyn Vernham signed deals for world rights in both books directly with the authors, and said: "We have been selling books in the US for several months, proving the American market has a taste for our particular brand of British romance. It's a good sign a promising debut novel from Jules and both authors strengthen our international connections."
Both titles will be published in early 2014.
