China to be guest of honour at BEA

China will be the guest of honour at BookExpo America's Global Market Forum in May.

China will send a high ranking delegation of up to 500 publishing professionals, authors and senior government officials to attend BEA in New York, in an effort to widen and deepen the cultural and business ties between the Chinese and American publishing markets.

Several of the largest Chinese publishing corporations, including Phoenix Publishing and Media Company, China Publishing Group, and China Education and Media Group, will attend the conference. Major service organisations such as China National Publishing Import and Export Company will also participate. In addition, Chinese authors including Mai Jia and Chi Zijian will be present.

Steven Rosato, BEA’s show director, said: “This is the most significant foreign delegation that we have ever hosted at America’s largest publishing convention. We are honored to welcome China and we look forward to making this a rewarding experience for everyone involved.”

BEA will take place from 27th to 29th May and the Chinese delegates will attend events scheduled at the conference location, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, as well as throughout New York City.
