Digital publisher Touchpress’ Disney Animated app has been nominated for a Children’s BAFTA award in the Interactive: Adapted category.
The app was made by Touchpress in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Interactive. It provides users with access to the inner workings of the studio, telling the story behind the making of over 50 films and peeling back the layers of animation to understand how every sketch is made.
In 2013, Apple chose Disney Animated as their iPad App of the Year. The app also won a Digital Book Award in 2014 and a FutureBook Innovation Award for best adult digital book. Touchpress is also in the running for this year's FutureBook Innovation Awards.
Theodore Gray, co-author of Disney Animated and chief creative officer of Touchpress, said: “The world of Disney animation is amazingly rich and deep. The more you look into it, the more surprising and delightful it becomes. We are thrilled to have been nominated for a Children’s BAFTA.”
The winner of the award will be announced on 23rd November.
