Tom Chicken has been appointed as Transworld’s sales director following Sarah Roscoe’s move to sales director for Penguin Random House Children’s.
Chicken originally joined Penguin on the graduate business management scheme in 2002, going on to manage field and key account sales teams, as well as growing sales and developing business relationships with physical and digital retailers including Waterstones, Asda, Amazon, Audible and Apple.
Over the past year, he has led Penguin Random House’s integrated UK Digital Sales team, helping to formulate and implement the UK digital retail sales strategy across PRH. He will start his new role on 16th March and will report into Ed Christie, Random House, UK sales director.
Sophie Overment, promoted to head of UK Digital Sales, will now take on overall responsibility for the UK Digital Sales team across all divisions, also reporting to Ed Christie.
Overment originally joined Penguin from Waterstones, moving across to work in global digital sales management in 2012.
Garry Prior, UK sales director, Penguin Random House, said: “I know that both Tom and Sophie will lead their new teams with great energy and vision. I am delighted that we have been able to fill both of these senior positions from within.”
