Faber has appointed literary agent Charlotte Robertson to the role of sales and services director, replacing Will Atkinson, who left in September to become m.d. of Atlantic.
Robertson, who will also sit on the Faber board, arrives at Faber from United Agents, where she has worked as an agent representing a list of 50 authors, including TV presenters Dr Linda Papadopoulos and Anna Richardson.
She has previously been group sales and marketing director at Simon & Schuster, and UK sales director at Pan Macmillan and Penguin General.
At Faber, Robertson's role will cover responsibility for all Faber's selling operations and other services, including the Independent Alliance, Faber Factory powered by Constellation, and Faber Factory Plus.
Faber chief executive Stephen Page said: "Her energy, experience and intelligence will ensure that we continue to navigate the modern market with great success for Faber and for our publishing partners."
Robertson said: "I have loved working at United Agents and will miss representing my wonderful authors, but the opportunity to work at the heart of independent publishing across such an extraordinary breadth of books is too exciting to miss."
