E-publishing solutions provider Semantico has made two changes to its senior management team, with co-founder Richard Padley moving up into the role of chairman and c.e.o., and Rob Virkar-Yates becoming c.o.o.
In his new role, Padley will establish an innovation centre within Semantico, which will drive the company’s technical and strategic development to enable it to innovate and deliver new products and services to the scholarly community. Padley will also continue to grow the company’s strategic engagement with and contributions to the scholarly community at large.
Virkar-Yates will take full control over the day-to-day running of the business and continue to drive growth in Semantico’s consultancy, product, and service delivery.
Padley said: "After many successful years of running the day-to-day business, I am happy to hand over the reins to Rob and the team he is building across consultancy, sales, delivery and aftercare. As chairman and c.e.o, I'll be focusing on innovating the new strategies and products we need to take Semantico into the next phase of its growth; I'll also be more fully contributing to the direction of the scholarly community as a whole as we - vendors, publishers and scholars - work together to drive the dissemination of academic content across the globe."
Virkar-Yates added: "I am excited to lead the day-to-day operations of this fantastic business as we continue to develop and expand our service offering. I have a world-class team working with me and I have no doubt that we will significantly increase our market share in the UK, US and Europe in the coming years."
