Frank Chambers has left his role as managing director of independent publisher Carlton Publishing, just 18 months after being appointed to the role, The Bookseller understands.
His departure comes shortly after that of Lisa Edwards, who was publisher of the adult division of Carlton for two years, and who left to “explore other opportunities in the industry” in March this year.
Chambers joined Carlton from Guinness World Records Ltd, where he was licensing director and then vice-president, publishing. He was appointed as m.d. of Carlton two years after Belinda Rasmussen vacated the role to move to Macmillan Children’s Books.
In the period between Rasmussen and Chambers, Carlton Publishing chairman Jonathan Goodman took on the role of m.d. “to take a closer look at the market”.
Carlton Publishing has yet to comment to The Bookseller on when Chambers left, and the reason for his departure.
