Century has acquired a "warm and charming" book by Sergeant Colin Taylor recounting his life and police work on the Isles of Scilly.
Editor Ajda Vucicevic bought world English rights in a deal struck with Tim Bates of Pollinger.
The book will chart Taylor's arrival on the island and his work keeping the streets safe. It will recall some of his favourite incidents from his time policing the Isles of Scilly, with stories of resuscitating goldfish and dealing with drunken anchor thieves.
Vucicevic said: "I am delighted to be publishing Colin’s book. He is a natural born writer, with a real eye for comedic story-telling. It promises to be a warm and charming account of life in the Scilly archipelago."
Taylor has been in the police force for over 20 years, the last five of which have been spent policing the Isles of Scilly where he lives with his family. He said: "I'm overwhelmed that Century are going to commit my exploits as a police officer on Scilly to print."
The book, a "unique portrait of the island and the daily life of its inhabitants", will publish in hardback in June, priced £12.99. A paperback edition will follow in 2017.
