Century is publishing the first book by Myles Hopper and Giles Humphries, the Devon duo behind Mindful Chef, a healthy recipe box service recommended by Vogue, GQ and Women’s Health.
Mindful Chef: 30 Minute Meals to Eat Well and Live Better will be one of Century's lead titles for 2017, according to the publisher, and includes 70 unique recipes that embody the core values of mindfulness and offer nutritionally-proven health and wellness benefits.
The book is structured into chapters on dishes that can reduce stress, increase energy levels, improve gut health, promote clearer skin and contribute to better exercise and sleep. Recipes include Keralan coconut fish curry with coriander & wild rice, to blueberry & banana buckwheat pancakes for a healthy breakfast.
Every ingredient in the book is responsibly sourced, gluten-free and free of refined carbs or sugars, while each recipe will have a maximum of 10 ingredients and eight steps per recipe to make each meal "as easy-to-prepare as it is healthy to eat". The book will also include mindful food diaries and planners.
Century editorial director Ben Brusey bought world rights from Hopper and Humphries directly in a two-book deal. Mindful Chef will be published in March 2017 in hardback and e-book, accompanied by a major print and social media campaign, which will begin in 2016.
Hopper and Humphries said: "We are extremely excited to have partnered with Penguin Random House to bring our healthy recipe book to life. We created Mindful Chef to make healthy eating achievable – the 30 minute recipes in this book are already enjoyed by thousands of our customers each week, and we can’t wait to help even more people around the world eat more mindfully."
Brusey said: "This is the first book to truly connect mindfulness with food. Not only are the recipes simple and delicious, but they offer proven health and wellness benefits. Myles and Giles are huge stars in the making and their brilliant book has all the ingredients to be a game-changer in cookery and lifestyle. Mindful Chef will be one of Century’s lead books for 2017."
