Century has acquired two novels in a new procedural crime series by author Ed Chatterton, billing it as "gritty, dark, visceral and utterly gripping".
Century editorial director Kate Burke bought UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding ANZ, through Tara Wynne at Curtis Brown Australia, with the first novel, A Dark Place to Die, to be published in summer 2012. It will feature detective inspector Frank Keane and be set in Liverpool, with the next novel to follow in summer 2013. Random House Australia will publish simultaneously.
Burke said: "A Dark Place to Die is such an accomplished crime debut—gritty, dark, visceral and utterly gripping. Ed is an exciting new voice in the genre."
