Devon-based Centum Books has appointed Fiona Macmillan, formerly of RHCP, as publishing director.
Centum said it hired Macmillan to enhance its licensed publishing business and development of own brand ranges.
“Over the last three years we have grown at a phenomenal rate and we now view ourselves as a very credible force in the publishing world,” said m.d. Geoffrey Reynolds. “The appointment of children’s publishing stalwart Fiona Macmillan, a name recognised throughout the industry, illustrates the extent of our ambitions.”
Fiona was previously publisher at Random House Children’s Publishers (RHCP), where she was responsible for the publishing strategy for children 0-7 years. She has also held director roles at Dorling Kindersley, Templar and Reed Children’s Books.
Centum Books holds publishing licenses for brands such as One Direction, "Despicable Me" and Hello Kitty. The company plans to increase annual sales threefold by the end of 2015 and establish a US subsidiary.
