Celebrity chefs Rick Stein (pictured), Tom Kerridge, John Torode and Frances Quinn will start the countdown to the 2015 Chorleywood Literary Festival with a series of four taster events in celebration of its 10th annual year.
On Friday 4th September, at Dr Challenor’s High School, Rick Stein will “transport” his visitors through the Eastern Mediterranean with demonstrations from his forthcoming book, From Venice to Istanbul. The book includes over 100 “spectacular” recipes inspired by the region’s traditional dishes. Stein will answer the audiences culinary queries and will do a signing after the event.
Masterchef judge John Torode will take vistors “behind the scenes” into his family kitchen as he discusses his new book, My Kind of Food at Sarrat Village Hall on Monday 7th September. The book invites reader into his home, away from the cameras and professional kitchens, and includes recipes in categories such as Brunch to Lunch.
Creative baker and illustrator, Frances Quinn, will showcase her new book Quintessential Baking at Chenies Manor on Tuesday 15th Septmember. Quinn won "The Great British Bake Off" in 2013, where she “wowed” Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with her baking skills. Quintessential Baking is full of “a mixture of delicious delights and traditional favourites” and features “beautiful and mouth-watering photography” alongside Quinn’s own illustrations.
The taster events will culminate in an evening with Michelin starred chef and owner of local restaurant, Tom Kerridge. He will be in conversation with Wendy Smith at Dr Challoner’s High School on 20th October about his new book, Tom’s Table. The book features 100 recipes.
Sheryl Shurville, owner of Chorleywood bookshop and the festival’s organiser, said: “We wanted to create some special events with some top chefs to celebrate our tenth annual year. The festival has grown from strength to strength attracting some of the biggest authors over the years and the 2015 programme promises to offer the best line up yet.”
The festival is organised by the Chorleywood Bookshop and will take place between 3rd and 18th November 2015. The full festival programme will be announced next month.
