Browne becomes editorial director at Borough Press

Cassie Browne has been promoted from commissioning editor to editorial director of The Borough Press.

Her appointment follows the recent arrival of publishing director, Suzie Dooré, who moved to Borough Press after 10 years at Hodder & Stoughton to replace Katie Espiner, who is now m.d. at Orion.

Browne recently signed two new novels from Andrea Bennett.

Dooré said:  “Even in my short time at The Borough Press it has been clear that Cassie is absolutely fundamental to Borough’s personality as an imprint, and her publishing instincts and editorial skills are hugely impressive.”

Browne said: “It gives me enormous pleasure to be stepping into the role of editorial director at The Borough Press. I feel very lucky to be part of this imprint, which has grown dramatically over the last two years, and to be able to work with such wonderful authors. With Suzie at its helm, I’m so excited to see the imprint continue to flourish, and to look ahead at publishing such brilliant books as Jennifer Ryan’s The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir.
