Carol Macdonald has been appointed interim head of editorial (books) at Edinburgh University Press (EUP).
She steps up to the role as former incumbent Nicola Ramsey takes on the position of interim c.e.o. this summer, replacing Timothy Wright. Macdonald will move into her new role on 2nd June 2021.
Currently senior commissioning editor at EUP, Macdonald has curated lists in contemporary continental and Scottish philosophy, as well as classics and ancient history.
In the new position, she will work with the management team to develop a strategic plan for the editorial department, including a new strategy for monographs, and with a focus on opportunities across publishing projects and partnerships.
Recruitment for a commissioning editor at the academic press is currently underway.
