Canongate has acquired the cult memoir which inspired the Emmy-winning drama "Mad Men".
Nick Davies, Canongate editorial director, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) to From Those Wonderful Folks Who Gave You Pearl Harbor, from agent Ed Victor for an undisclosed sum.
Canongate will publish the title, which has never been released in the UK, as a b-format paperback r.r.p. £8.99 on 22nd July. Simon & Schuster will re-issue the book in New York.
The memoir, subtitled "Front-line Dispatches from the Advertising War", was first published in the US in 1970 by Jerry Della Femina, an American advertising executive who served as an advisor on the first series of the show. He will visit the UK in July to promote.
Season four of the AMC show will air in the US from 25th July. The previous series were broadcast on BBC4 and BBC2 in the UK.
