Canelo has acquired Second World War saga The Ops Room Girls by Vicki Beeby in a three-book deal.
Commissioning editor Emily Bedford acquired world English language rights from Lina Langlee at the Kate Nash Literary Agency. The Ops Room Girls will be published in July 2020 in e-book and paperback.
Beeby’s trilogy follows three women who sign up to the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force to join in the war effort. All from different backgrounds, Evie, May and Jess become firm friends as they fight for their place in a man’s world and explore new romances.
Bedford said: "I was overjoyed when Lina sent over The Ops Room Girls and even more so when I stayed up all night to finish it because I simply couldn’t put it down. The entire Canelo team couldn’t be more passionate about publishing Vicki’s writing and we can’t wait for readers to fall as in love with Evie, May and Jess as we did."
Beeby commented: "It’s a real thrill to be joining such an innovative publisher as Canelo. From the start I’ve been impressed with Emily’s enthusiasm and vision for The Ops Room Girls series, and it’s a delight to have an editor who loves the characters as much as I do."
