Caitlin Moran is curating a Mother's Day selection box for the book subscription service LoveMyRead.
Moran will select six titles for subscribers to choose from, which will arrive with a note, penned by the author, and some extra gifts. The selection will be confirmed on 4th March, while the box will be available to purchase from 26th February. Year-long subscriptions will come with a free copy of Moran's latest book, More Than a Woman (Ebury).
Commenting on the collaboration, Moran said: "A good book is a bit like a mother — a cross between an instruction manual for life, a good friend, and a lovely world to spend some time in. I'm delighted to be working with LoveMyRead, as it saves me running up to strangers in the street and pressing books into their hand, shouting 'You have to read this!'"
Launched in September last year, LoveMyRead works with UK-based publishers to curate a selection of books to arrive at subscribers' homes on the day of publication. The service, which targets both children and adults, offers a choice of three, six and 12-month packages. For every annual subscription, the subscriber may choose a school to receive a new book, or a donation via the Schools Library Association.
Vicki Perrin, head of books at LoveMyRead added: "I cannot wait for LoveMyRead subscribers to revel in the joyous books Caitlin has so brilliantly chosen in her curation. These are books to make and break your heart, shake up your soul for the better and make you see the world differently. They’re rites of passage for every woman whether a mother or daughter and I have no doubt will become dear companions to our readers throughout their lives.”
