Laura Brooke has been promoted to publicity director at Cornerstone.
Formerly senior publicity manager, Brooke will continue to work closely with Random House publishing director Nigel Wilcockson, leading PR strategy on his titles, while also handling titles from across the division.
Her publishing career began at Bloomsbury where she spent seven years working with authors such as Patti Smith, George Saunders and William Dalrymple. She went on to complete a nine month secondment to Doha in Qatar where she headed up the publicity team for the Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Publishing before joining William Collins as senior publicity manager. She joined Cornerstone in 2016.
Charlotte Bush, director of publicity and media relations at Cornerstone, said that Brooke had "instantly impressed with the huge amount of energy, drive and enthusiasm she brought to the role”.
"Laura is a truly passionate publicist who excels at author care and her campaigns for Cornerstone have ranged from bestsellers such as Ikigai, The Girl on the Dancing Horse and Doughnut Economics to fiction titles including Red Sky at Noon and The Possible World,” Bush said.
She recently accompanied Michael Palin on a two-week publicity tour for Erebus: The Story of A Ship (Cornerstone) and has volunteered for the Port Eliot festival for a number of years.
