Natalie Bradley is returning to Octopus as commissioning editor in a newly-created role, tasked with driving growth in wellness imprints Aster, Godsfield and Gaia.
Bradley first joined Octopus as an editorial assistant in 2014, moving into editing and commissioning via Bounty Books and then on to her current role at Yellow Kite and Hodder Lifestyle.
In her new position, she will report to publishing director Stephanie Jackson, with a remit to identify fresh talent and new opportunities, acquiring narrative and illustrated titles while building Ocotpus’ green offering.
Bradley said: "I am enormously proud of what I have achieved at Hodder, thanks to my phenomenal colleagues at Yellow Kite and Hodder Lifestyle. However, it is time for the next step, and I am so glad that it is one that reunites me with Octopus, a company whose people and publishing have remained very close to my heart. I can’t wait to get started – and look forward to all the submissions, pitches and acquisitions to come."
Jackson added: "This is an exciting time at Octopus in so many ways: our wellbeing lists are flourishing, our narrative publishing is in massive growth and our investment in the revival of Gaia – one of the earliest pioneers of the wellness publishing movement, with an ethical, ecological stance – is topical and timely. Natalie's superb instincts for a canny opportunity will be focused on building a list that is smart, savvy and commercial – and brings important new voices and ideas that really matter to readers everywhere. We can't wait to welcome her back into the fold."
She starts the role on 21st October when her email will be natalie.bradley@octopusbooks.co.uk.
