Borders US cuts another 100 jobs

<p>Borders Group in the US is making some 100 people redundant at its distribution facility in in Nashville, according to the <a href="" target="_blank"><em>Nashville Business Journal. <br /></em></a></p><p>This is on top of the 120 jobs already cut at the same location this year.</p><p>Employees were informed of the cuts on Tuesday, the paper said. It quoted Borders spokeswoman Mary Davis, writing in an e-mail, as saying: &quot;&ldquo;We are in the process of reorganizing core areas of our business around key strategic objectives to transform the Borders brand.</p><p>&quot;As part of this effort, we are making changes to our staffing levels to make sure the right people are in the right spots and positions and resources are aligned with our strategic objectives.&quot;</p><p>The bookseller reported a loss of $64.1m (&pound;40m) in the quarter ended 1st May, on revenue of $547.2m. This was down from a loss of $86m on revenue of $650.2m a year ago.</p>
