Aspiring stars could win PR representation from the firm that represents Prince, Led Zeppelin and Noel Edmonds in a new competition from Borders. The bookseller has teamed up with Pan Macmillan in a campaign to promote the launch of The Fame Formula by PR guru Mark Borkowski.
From 4th August, www.borders.co.uk will invite customers to upload a video of their talent that they believe deserves recognition. The retailer will also run instore events with Borkowski with video booths for customers to try their luck. Borkowski will appear at London’s Oxford Street on 12th August, Islington on the 19th, and Glasgow on the 21st. There will be a further three dates to be confirmed towards the end of September in Bournemouth, Cardiff and Leeds.
Entries will be judged by a panel of representatives from Borders, Pan Macmillan as well as Borkowski. A shortlist of 20 will be announced at the end of October, with the winner revealed in April 2009. The winner will be awarded 15 months of representation by the Borkowski PR agency.
