Borders is reported to have entered discussions with a digital specialist over the possibility of taking over its website to focus on its store offering.
According to http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/news/borders-looks-to-offload-online-arm/... 955.article#at" target="_blank">Marketing Week, the retailer is talking with Tangent Labs with a view to moving the management of its website, www.borders.co.uk, in-house at the digital strategist.
Tangent was responsible for developing the site, which launched last year, and it also handles email marketing for the book retailer.
However Borders declined to confirm or deny the report. A spokesperson for the company said: "We have no comment to make on this right now." Tangent was unavailable for comment on Friday (30th October).
Last month, The Bookseller revealed that Books Etc was likely to close at the end of the year after parent Borders launched a closing down sale.
