Borders and B&N beat expectations

<p>Borders US has followed its US rival Barnes&amp;Noble and reported upbeat Christmas trading figures after stronger then expected sales during the holiday period. Its international divisions, which include Borders and Books Etc in the UK, saw fourth quarter sales, covering the three months to 6th January, rise by 28.5% against the same period last year. </p><p> Like-for-like sales at Borders superstores in the US rose by 5.1% in the six weeks to 6th January.
