Jeanne Willis, Chris Riddell and Tim Warnes are among the authors shortlisted for this year's Booktrust Early Years Awards.
According to Booktrust, the shortlisted books "all exemplify the remarkable creativity in words, design and illustration necessary to encourage young children to read".
The awards, which comprise baby book, pre-school and best emerging illustrator categories, aim to celebrate and publicise the range of books published for babies, toddlers and pre-school children and promote and make these books available to as wide an audience as possible. Posters promoting the awards are available to booksellers and libraries.
The winner for each category will be announced on 23rd September and receive £2,000.
