For the week ending 4th July, Mary Burton’s Never Look Back (Montlake) swiped the Bookstat e-book top spot.
The turn of the month usually results in a flood of new titles in the chart as Kindle Unlimited books change. Crime thrillers dominate, with Never Look Back and S W Kane’s The Bone Jar (Thomas & Mercer) both police procedurals, but Lydia Kane’s historical Opium and Absinthe (Lake Union) and Aliza Fogelson’s contemporary romance The Lending Library (Lake Union) also hit the top five.
Billy Connolly's Tall Tales and Wee Stories, the second-bestselling book of 2019 in Scotland through Nielsen BookScan, made its debut in the Bookstat chart in sixth place. Only two titles, Candice Carty-Williams' Nibbies-winning Queenie (Trapeze) and Amanda Prowse's The Light in the Hallway (Lake Union), held firm in the chart from the week before.
Hachette has stated that for the week ending 4th July, Tall Tales and Wee Stories sold 7,673 units and Queenie sold 7,280.
