Bookshops begin Go Set A Watchman deals

Blackwell’s and Foyles are both offering discounts to people who pre-order Harper Lee’s forthcoming novel Go Set a Watchman (William Heinemann).

Go Set a Watchman, written by Lee before her bestselling novel To Kill a Mockingbird but featuring some of the same characters, will be released on 14th July as an £18.99 hardback.

Blackwell’s is offering the book at £13.99, a discount of £5, for those who pre-order, while Foyles is offering a 24% discount to anyone who pre-orders, making the book £14.43.

Go Set a Watchman is also available for pre-order on Amazon and Waterstones, but both are currently selling the book at full price on their websites.

News of the release of Go Set a Watchman, a novel originally thought lost, has seen sales of To Kill a Mockingbird increase over the last week.

The 2010 50th anniversary edition of To Kill a Mockingbird (Arrow) sold 3,774 units last week through Nielsen BookScan's Total Consumer Market, hitting 39th spot overall.
