Indie retail site Bookshop.org launching in UK

Bookshop.org, a retail site billed as a way for indies to counter Amazon’s online dominance, is coming to the UK in time for Christmas after smashing its US sales targets since launching in late January.

The firm is the creation of Andy Hunter pictured right, publisher of website Literary Hub and imprints Catapult, Counterpoint, and Soft Skull Press, who has watched with increasing alarm as Amazon’s market share has grown and grown over the past decade.
