The Bookseller Industry Awards are now open for entries at https://www.eventsforce.net/bia14.
The awards are the ultimate accolade for companies and individuals doing the very best work across the book trade.
The growth in digital publishing is reflected in a new category, E-book Retailer of the Year, as well as a revamp of the Marketing Campaign award to incorporate broader digital and genre-specific strategies. Digital Strategy now focuses exclusively on publishers—including e-book-only operators—to highlight the achievements of the teams working on e-book, web and app projects.
As large publishers expand, individual imprints risk becoming less visible. To counter this, the awards for editor and imprint—traditionally judged collectively—have been split. Imprints gain greater profile and editors/publishers achieving success for their authors can be recognised whether they work for individual imprints or across the board.
Nigel Roby, publisher and chief executive of The Bookseller, said: “The awards are both a celebration and a reflection of the book trade. As new teams and strategies gain in importance, it is our job to applaud their successes.”
