Books may benefit from education funding boost

<p>Educational publishers could be among those in line to benefit following the announcement of a major increase in government funding for schools. The Chancellor's Comprehensive Spending Review has promised a rise in funding for education of about 6% in real terms over each of the next three years, with increased payments made direct to schools for their own spending through the School Standards Grant.</p><p> Primary schools will typically receive an increase of &#163;10,000 to at least &#163;50,000, while secondary schools' payments will rise by &#163;50,000 to at least &#163;165,000.
