Bookouture has signed deal to publish three UK women's fiction authors digitally in the US and Canada.
The digital and print-on-demand publisher, run by Oliver Rhodes, will release editions of books from Victoria Fox, Anna-Lou Weatherley and Emma Garcia, all of whom are represented by Madeleine Milburn.
Fox's Hollywood Sinners, Temptation Island and Wicked Ambition are published by Mira in the UK, while Weatherley's Wicked Wives and Vengeful Wives (published as Chelsea Wives in the UK) are with Avon. Garcia's Never Google Heartbreak is published by Hodder & Stoughton.
Milburn said: "It is an anomaly how so much women’s fiction can work so well in the UK but hasn’t yet broken out in the US. We don’t see this same divide when it comes to films or TV, or even bestselling women’s fiction authors such as Jackie Collins and Sophie Kinsella. It’s my belief that Oliver can tap into a US readership for our authors with his digitally savvy marketing."
Rhodes said British women's fiction "definitely has global appeal".
