Orion is teaming up with Bookomi to host a “buy-to-view” event to celebrate the release of Tim Minchin’s Storm.
The event, featuring Minchin at Soho House in Los Angeles, will be livestreamed to readers who pre-order a special launch paperback edition of the book from Bookomi’s shop.
Readers will also be able to submit questions to Minchin using a hashtag released an hour before the event, which takes place on 6th October.
Storm is an illustrated version of Minchin’s beat-poem of the same name, which started as an animated film.
The special launch edition, which is exclusive to Bookomi and costs £12.99, includes a foreword by Neil Gaiman and a limited edition numbered print signed by DC Turner, who created the animation for the Storm short film and has redesigned the artwork for the book.
Pre-orders open today (17th September) at 11am on the Bookomi website.
Bookomi, which launched this year, offers people who pay the full r.r.p. for books access to live streamed events and exclusive e-content.
Its initial focus is on business and non-fiction books, and it teamed up with Penguin Random House imprint Vermilion for its first event for Ajaz Ahmed’s Limitless: The Six Characteristics of Organisations that Endure.
Storm will be published by Orion in trade paperback and e-book at £12.99 on 16th October 2014.
