Picador reprints 150,000 copies of Booker winner Shuggie Bain

Picador has confirmed it has reprinted more than 150,000 copies of Douglas Stuart's Booker-winning novel Shuggie Bain.

Stuart's semi-autobiographical debut scooped the £50,000 prize last week in a decision greeted with unanimous praise by both booksellers and the national press.

Associate publisher Ravi Mirchandani said that since the announcement, and in response to customer demand, more than 150,000 copies had been reprinted. The books are across printings in the UK, South Africa, Australia and India, in editions ranging from an Indian B-format paperback to the UK hardcover.
