The Man Booker Prize has become the first literary prize to launch its own app, with a mobile phone partnership with T Mobile also being announced. The free app, available from today [26th August], which was created by Vexed Digital, will include a full chronological history of the prize including information about judges, longlist, shortlist and winning authors and books.
Exclusive author interviews, video content and audio and text ectracts from selected Man Booker titles will also be available. The app will also supply readers with up to date shortlist and winner announcements for the prize.
Ion Trewin, literary director of the Man Booker Prizes, commented: "The Man Booker has always been innovative in its marketing. The Man Booker Prize App is an exciting way of getting to an additional band of potential readers of this year’s longlist and shortlist."
