The Book People has launched a one-day 40% off Christmas promotion today [25th November].
The promotion is being run through the company's website and offers customers a range of 17,000 titles with the discount, which the company said will tell them more about customers' buying habits, tastes and preferences.
Adult bestsellers such as How To Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran (Ebury Press) and Steve Jobs's autobiography by Walter Isaacson (Little, Brown) are on the offer, along with children's bestsellers such as Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, which is selling for £11.39 (r.r.p £18.99).
Seni Glaister, chief executive of The Book People, said: "For one day only we're introducing our customers to a much wider range of books that we think they might enjoy in the run up to Christmas. These are not books that our customers would normally expect to find in our hand-picked range . . . We have enjoyed record sales throughout October and November though traditionally our peak weeks are behind us by this point. Today's sale is one of a number of initiatives we're introducing to extend our Christmas selling period into December and to learn more about our customers to help us serve them better in the future."
The Book People's website has a Christmas theme, with baubles and snowflakes, and is currently carrying the slogan: "Unlock a whole new world of books."
