Bonnier expands fiction division

Bonnier Publishing is looking to expand its fiction division and is recruiting for five managerial roles.

The division, which includes children’s imprints Hot Key Books and Piccadilly Press and adult fiction imprints Zaffre and Twenty7, is looking to hire a director/head of export sales, key account manager (digital sales), key account manager (print fiction), PR manager and marketing manager.

The recruitment drive comes after a period of significant changes for Bonnier Publishing Fiction. At Hot Key, digital director Sara O’Connor and sales and marketing director Kate Manning both left this year, while Sarah Odedina stepped down as m.d. last year.

Editors at Hot Key Books and Piccadilly Press are now acquiring titles across both lists, under guidance from Jane Harris, who joined the company as executive director for children's fiction in February.

Bonnier says the new hires could see the headcount in the fiction division grow by as much as 25%.

Mark Smith, who took on the role of c.e.o. of Bonnier Publishing Fiction in December, said: “This is a really exciting time to be working at Bonnier Publishing Fiction – we’re branching out into new markets, launching innovative imprints, working with some great talent, and creating stunning products. This recruitment process is geared towards finding candidates who are energetic, enthusiastic and commercially savvy, and I am confident that thecrème de la crème in publishing will find our offering appealing.”
