Bonnier Publishing has created Bonnier Publishing Australia in a bid to expand further into the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The business arm will include its Australia-based publishers The Five Mile Press and Echo Publishing.
Richard Johnson, group c.e.o of Bonnier Publishing, said he had plans to double sales in the territory.
“Bonnier Publishing Australia gives us the platform to deliver our ambitious plans for the Australian and New Zealand markets which will ultimately see our division in Australia double in size, mirroring what we have achieved in the UK in the last two years,” Johnson said. “We intend to invest heavily to achieve that goal.”
As part of the newly formed structure, Bonnier Publishing Australia will relocate to new centrally-located premises at Church Street, Richmond, and as a result of the relocation The Five Mile Press distribution centre will close. Bonnier Publishing Australia has appointed TL Distribution (TLD) to provide warehousing, customer service and accounts receivable services for Australia and New Zealand.
Natasha Besliev, new c.e.o of Bonnier Publishing Australia, said: “We’re proud of our heritage, but we’re not bound by any particular mould and so we’re excited to be starting a new chapter with a new name and new premises.
Our change of name reflects the new shape and scope of our team, our intentions for the future and the exciting ways we continue to work with and within our parent company, Bonnier Publishing.”
She added: “We’ll be working hard to maintain business as usual and we appreciate our partners’ patience during this transition period.”
