Hardie Grant Egmont m.d Natasha Besliev has been named as the new c.e.o of Bonnier Publishing Australia.
Besliev’s appointment will consolidate the group’s business in Australia, including imprints The Five Mile Press and Echo Publishing, as it prepares for further growth, the publisher said.
Besliev will join Bonnier Australia in the new year and report to group c.e.o Richard Johnson, who is based in the UK.
At Hardie Grant Egmont, Besliev was responsible for “growing the business significantly” in terms of strategy, growth and profitability, Bonnier said. She joined Hardie Grant Egmont in 2004, rising through the ranks from senior product manager to sales and marketing director before becoming m.d in 2011.
Johnson, c.e.o of Bonnier Publishing, said: “Natasha’s appointment is a fantastic coup for Bonnier Publishing. What she’s achieved at Hardie Grant Egmont is hugely impressive and her wealth of experience makes her the perfect candidate to grow our business in Australia.”
Besliev added: “I can’t wait to take up this new challenge at what is a very exciting time for Bonnier Publishing. The Five Mile Press and Echo Publishing are great businesses, primed for growth. I look forward to working with Richard and the talented teams in Melbourne to take Bonnier Publishing Australia from strength to strength.”
Bonnier Publishing has offices in Australia, France and the USA, with 460 employees. It owns The Five Mile Press and Echo Publishing in Australia. Echo publishes narrative non-fiction, true crime, illustrated titles reflecting the Australian landscape and has a growing fiction list celebrating new Australian authors.
