The Bodley Head is to publish Robert A Caro’s The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York for the first time in the UK this year.
The book was first published in the US by Knopf in 1974 and won the Pulitzer Prize, but has never been published in the UK before.
The Power Broker tells the story of the man who, for almost half a century, wielded more power than anyone else in New York and single-handedly shaped it into the city it is today.
Caro has gone on to write a multi-part biography of American president Lyndon Johnson. The fourth volume was published by The Bodley Head in 2012.
Editorial director Will Hammond acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to The Power Broker from Cullen Stanley at Janklow and Nesbit.
The Bodley Head will publish The Power Broker in hardback, currently priced at £30, on 2nd July 2015.
